ABOUT JACK OLSON

Jack Olson was born in 1951 in Northern Alberta. Throughout his youth, his family moved to various areas along the West Coast of BC. Surrounded by Totem Poles in areas such as Hazelton and Smithers, he would not realize the impact and influence these carvings would have on him later in life. Jack completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1976. Soon after graduating Jack opened a design firm in Edmonton which he operated with his brother. In 1981 Jack and his young family moved to Windermere, BC. Jack's passion for history, travel, cultural diversity and indigenous practices is evident in his work.
